Funny Halloween Story for Kids: Watch Halloween Date From Hell
Halloween is nearly here, so I thought it was time to give one of my older picture books a little more life.
Halloween Date From Hell is a funny rhyming Halloween story for kids, written by me and illustrated by Chris White.
It follows a lonely witch who is tired of brewing the same old gruesome recipes. She turns to the Undead Times in search of a Halloween date and eventually discovers a gorgeous, grotesque zombie who seems absolutely perfect.
What follows involves falling body parts, bursting boils, a picnic on a tomb and a Halloween romance that may not be quite what it seems.
A 22 second Halloween teaser
I made this very short trailer using some of Chris White’s brilliantly gruesome illustrations.

I have also made a new version of the complete story, narrated in the voice of the witch herself.
I have always loved spooky stories. Perhaps that is not surprising as I was born at Cemetery House in Uttoxeter, where my grandfather maintained the cemetery and dug the graves and my nan made the funeral wreaths.
Halloween Date From Hell is now out of print, but I still have a small number of copies at home which I can sign and personalise.
