Lie Out Loud (LOL): a mental health poem for students about the difference between what people see and what is real

A man sits on the couch with his head in his hand.

Lie Out Loud (LOL)

I cry alone
but dance in crowds
I whisper truth
but lie out loud

I hide my hope
but make believe
I dare to dream
but daren’t achieve

I claim my shame
but not my vault
I’m not to blame
but it’s my fault

I play at smiles
but bat at bliss
I take my aim
but always miss

I walk so weak
but fake my force
I proudly speak
but hear remorse

I scream inside
but battle brave
I delve down deep
but can’t be saved

I cry alone
but dance in crowds
I whisper truth
but lie out loud

💡 A mental health poem for students to explore the difference between what people may see and what lies beneath. I'd love to read your own mental health poem for students. Can a mental health poem for students or by students have the power to make a difference? I'd like to think so think so.
